Wiking Paintworks Trophy - My entry (and the finished Panther)

As you might have read on Burns' or Morks  Blog, Wiking is hosting a Figure-Painting-Trophy for 20mm Figures that suit to Behind Omaha.
Now I'd like to show you my entry:
Willy, the Richtschütze of the feared Panther:

Willy proudly wears the Panzerkampfabzeichen in silver, as well as the Eiserne Kreuz II. Klasse.
He wears the black Panzer-Uniform which shows the shoulderflaps and the collarpatches in the Panzer-Color "Pink".

Willy is -as his comrades- originally a Crew-Member of the Italeri (ex-Esci) Panzer IV. To be honest, Willy was not really painted for the Trophy. I made him in early December, but as I was lacking time to paint some more sophisticated Mini, well, he was chosen for the Trophy...

Yesterday, after almost a week of no progress at the office - as well as on my hobby-desk (due to some nasty cold), I was able to finally finish the vehicle, Willy is sitting on: The Panther Ausf. A by Revell:

I will post some more detailed shots these days...

Until then,
have a nice time!

Good luck to all other participants of the WTP :)
...and thanks for reading!

  1. Great! Willy is superb painted. Nice details. Good luck at the competition. And the Big Cat....Wow.

  2. Great work, love the detailing on the uniform. The Panther is not bad either!

  3. Cool tank, cooler driver!!!
    Good luck Mojo!!

  4. Just been having a look around on your blog, you´ve got some good things here...More!! :-)
    Oh and good luck ;-)

  5. One little thing concerning WillY. I would suggest a little wash with Ogryn flesh for the hair and the face. And I use Revell "graublau" for a light drybrush of the uniforms at Tank Crew Uniforms.

  6. Thanks to all of you :)
@Mork: I washed Willys face with Ogryn flesh ;)
    Twice... :D
But not the hair, the wash completely sucked off the blonde hair at the first time...
The graublau is a good advice, i should get me some, before I fix these figures with glue!

Again, thank you all for your kind words ;)

Thanks for commenting! You make me glad :)
